Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) (Arabic: جامعة الأميرة نورة بنت عبد الرحمن), formerly known as Riyadh University for Women, stands as a beacon of educational excellence and empowerment in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As the largest women's university in the world, PNU has been a pioneering force in women's education since its establishment in 1970 during the reign of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz.
In 2008, PNU was granted university status by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and was renamed in honor of Noura bint Abdul Rahman, the esteemed elder sister and adviser of King Abdulaziz ibn Saud. Noura bint Abdul Rahman, a prominent figure in Saudi history, was the eldest daughter of Abdul Rahman bin Faisal, the last emir of the Second Saudi State.

The Department of Islamic Studies at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University is one of the oldest departments historically. The Department of Islamic Studies became a significant department and it offers several academic programs, including a bachelor's programs and three postgraduate programs: Tafsir and Qur’an Sciences, Prophetic Tradition and its Sciences, and Islamic Jurisprudence. The Islamic Studies program at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University received full program accreditation from the Education & Training Evaluation Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation.
The University offers one bachelor program for Islamic studies called ‘Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies’
This program aims to enhance human understanding by conducting focused studies on Islamic topics and conducting genuine research. The program endeavors to make groundbreaking scientific and practical advancements in different areas of the field.

The Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University is offered through the unified electronic admission system for female students at public universities in Riyadh. Unified e-admission goals:
1.Facilitate and standardize the admission procedures in order to save time and effort on female students and their parents from the hardship of attending the headquarters of universities or technical college and avoid the repeated data in universities.
2. Increasing the number of admissions in universities and technical colleges by not repeating the admission of the student on more than one side and reducing the waste in the seats Because of the withdrawal of some of the students .
3. Take advantage of the available seats in public universities and technical colleges in Riyadh and make the best use of the possibilities available in each university or technical college .
4. Enable the student to apply to more than one university and technical college at the same time according to the student's desire with the possibility of identifying the appropriate alternatives .
5. Clarity and transparency in the admission procedures and ensure equal and fair opportunities for all in accordance with the acceptability criteria adopted for each specialty .
Admission Terms and Conditions
1. Applicants must be Saudi nationals or have a Saudi mother.
2. High school diploma or its equivalent from inside or outside Saudi Arabia is required.
3. Applicants must have graduated from high school within the past five years.
4. Applicants must complete aptitude and achievement tests administered by the National Center for Assessment, (this applies to all high school graduates from inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regardless of the curriculum followed.
5. Applicants must meet the specified admission criteria or any additional requirements determined by the University Council.
6. Completing any tests or interviews determined by the university is necessary.
7. Applicants must be medically fit.
8. Health and psychological suitability for health-related fields are evaluated. If unsuitable, admission may be transferred to a different program.
9. Health and psychological suitability for Sports Sciences are evaluated, as well as the applicant's body mass. Applicants must have a normal body mass index (BMI: 18.5-24.9). Otherwise, admission may be transferred to different programs.
10. Applicants must not be currently enrolled, previously admitted, hold a bachelor's degree, or have been dismissed from any public university in Saudi Arabia or elsewhere. Admission may be revoked if found otherwise.
11. Applicants must not have a prior record at the university or have obtained a diploma or bachelor's degree from the applied college previously.
